TangVision Support
Camera or distance is not working
- Make sure the iPhone or iPad front camera is unobstructed.
- Place your face inside the on-screen guide and use steady lighting.
- Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and allow TangVision.
- Use Distance calibration to adjust the displayed estimate for your device position.
TangVision provides an estimate for viewing habits. It is not a clinical measuring instrument.
Reminders are not playing
- Check Alert sound, Voice reminders and Haptic feedback in Settings.
- Check the device volume and Silent Mode.
- Preview the selected sound in Reminder Library before starting a session.
- Custom recordings require microphone permission and remain on this device.
Plans and background behavior
Starting an activity plan immediately starts the foreground distance check. When TangVision goes to the background, camera detection pauses because iOS and iPadOS do not allow a normal app to continuously use the camera there. Return to TangVision to resume the active session.
TangVision Plus
Plus is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. If you purchased Plus and it is not shown, open TangVision Plus and choose Restore purchase while signed in to the same Apple Account used for the purchase.
Privacy and data deletion
Camera frames and face data are processed locally and are not uploaded. To remove local sessions and recordings, open Settings → On-device privacy → Delete records.
Why I built TangVision
Watching my son use an iPad or read, I often noticed him moving closer and closer without realizing it. I worried about the strain on his eyes and the possibility of myopia. That concern led me to build TangVision—a gentle, private tool that helps families notice viewing distance and build more comfortable reading and screen habits.
TangVision is a viewing-habit assistant, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, prevent or treat myopia, eye disease or any other health condition.
Health information sources
