TangCipher Support

TangCipher is a standalone, on-device app for encrypting messages and managing password books. No account or TangCipher server is required.

Import and share a password book

Open a password book and save its backup QR as an image. Send the image through a channel you trust. On the receiving device, paste the password-book transfer code into TangCipher to import it. TangCipher does not use the camera to scan QR codes.

Encryption and recovery

Messages, passwords, and password books are processed locally. TangCipher cannot recover a forgotten password or deleted password book. Keep a backup on another trusted device.

Purchases

TangCipher Plus purchases are processed by Apple. Use Restore Purchase after reinstalling or moving to another device.
