TangCipher Privacy Policy

Summary

TangCipher is a standalone, on-device app. It does not require an account and does not operate a server for messages, passwords, or password books.

Data we collect

TangCipher does not collect, sell, or share personal data, message content, passwords, keys, analytics, advertising identifiers, or location data. There are no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

Local processing and storage

Encryption, decryption, password-book generation, and password-book storage happen on your device. Password books are protected with iOS Keychain. TangCipher does not sync this data to iCloud or a TangCipher server.

QR backups

Photo access is requested only when you choose to save a QR backup image. QR images may contain the data needed to import a password book; share them only with trusted recipients.

Retention and deletion

Data remains on your device until you delete a password book, clear app data, or delete the app. Deleting the app removes local password books and settings. Deleted or forgotten password books and passwords cannot be recovered.
